Local credit union donates $ 20,000 to youth centers in the capital region
CORINTH, NY (NEWS10) – The Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) has donated $ 20,000 to support two youth centers in the Capital Region. The After School Enrichment Program at the Corinthian Branch of the Saratoga Regional YMCA and the Glens Falls Area Youth Center each received $ 10,000.
âThis year has been a difficult year for so many families and we are honored to once again provide financial assistance to organizations dedicated to enriching the lives of children in our communities,â said Sue Commanda, CEO of HRCCU . âThe coronavirus pandemic continues to present challenges for parents and families, so providing essential equipment and supplies is essential to keep these programs running. “
âWith the continued support of the Hudson River Community Credit Union and their generous donation of $ 10,000, the Y will be able to provide financial assistance to local families in need, ensuring that everyone has access to this program. regardless of their ability to pay, âsaid Scott Clark, CEO of the Saratoga Regional YMCA.

HRCCU has also set up another fundraiser for the Glens Falls Area Youth Center at its Glens Falls branch. People can donate in person at the branch – 160 Broad Street, Glens Falls – or on the youth centre’s website.
Over the past eight years, HRCCU has raised over $ 170,000 for local youth centers. Donations were used to purchase new equipment, supplies and provide scholarships to students.
